Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami announced the siege of all SSP offices on Saturday, April 20, against the ongoing bandit rule in the city.
On the instructions of the newly elected Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, a protest demonstration was held at the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday against the increasing incidents of street crime in Karachi and the loss of precious lives in them.
The demonstration was addressed by Jamaat-e-Islami Vice Amir Muslim Pervaiz, Amir South District Syed Abdul Rasheed, Secretary South District Sufyan Dilawar and announced protests outside all SSP offices across the city on Saturday, April 20.
The leaders said that the provincial ministers say that the media is exaggerating the incidents of crime in Karachi, but the situation in the city is that no one is safe, people are being killed and injured every day.
Jamaat-e-Islami leaders said that the IG Sindh should also tell what the police department is doing in Karachi. More than 35 thousand crime reports have been filed in 3 months. The Sindh Chief Minister should tell why the Safe City project, which has been ongoing since 2012, has not been completed. .
The leaders demanded that the safe city program should be completed as soon as possible, safety of people’s lives and property should be ensured, local residents of Karachi should be recruited in police on priority basis.
