bill to: Taliban Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has said that they are preparing a plan to convert former foreign military bases across the country into “Special Economic Zones”.
According to the international news organization, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban government Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has said that after a long consultation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was allowed to build “Economic Special Zones” in place of foreign military bases, including the United States.
Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar added that a pilot project to replace military bases in the capital Kabul and northern Balkh province will be launched soon, which will stabilize the Afghan economy.
It should be noted that since the Taliban took power in 2021, Afghanistan’s international funds have been frozen, due to which the economy of the country, which has been at war for 20 years, is in a state of crisis and poverty is entrenched.
A spokesman for the Taliban government said that the government’s focus at the moment is on increasing economic self-sufficiency through trade and investment.
The World Bank also says that Afghanistan’s exports have increased and the Taliban administration has managed to keep revenues largely stable in 2022.
