Bahawalnagar incident;  Notification of formation of JIT for investigation

Lahore: The Punjab government has issued a notification of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the clash between police and Pakistan Army personnel in Bahawalnagar.

According to the notification, Special Secretary Home Fazlur Rehman will be the convener of the JIT while Commissioner Bahawalpur Nadarchhata will be the member of the JIT.

Besides, DIG Special Branch Faisal Raja and one representative each from ISI and IB will also be part of the JIT.

Earlier, in a statement issued by the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), it was said that a joint inquiry involving police and security personnel will be conducted for a transparent inquiry into the incident and to identify those guilty of legal violations. .
