Lahore: More than 9,000 rescue workers are performing special duty in the provincial capital on the occasion of Eid prayer gatherings and Eid al-Fitr.
According to Punjab Rescue Spokesman Farooq Ahmed, special rescue teams have been deployed near Eid places, mosques and entertainment places. 904 ambulances, 2262 rescue motorbikes and 377 fire rescue vehicles have been deployed while special rescue posts have also been established for immediate medical and rescue service.
He said that the provincial emergency operation center is in constant contact with the control room of all the districts. Call 1122 immediately in case of civil emergency.
In Lahore, Eid prayers were held at the city’s mosques, parks and open spaces, where tight security arrangements were made while extra officials were deployed to maintain the flow of traffic.
Meanwhile, CCPO Lahore has said regarding the security plan on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr that the police is determined to protect mosques, imambargahs and Eid gatherings. More than 7,000 personnel and officers are performing their duties for the security of Eid prayers.
He said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, search, sweep and combing operations and effective snap checking are going on across the city. On the occasion of Eid, safety of life and property of citizens should be ensured in public parks and other recreational places.
