Islamabad: Like the rest of the country, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervor in the twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) where more than 4,000 Eid prayer gatherings were held.
The big Eid gathering in the federal capital was held at the Shah Faisal Mosque, where the Secretary General of Islamic Scholars, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Kareem Al-Aesa, led the Eid prayers. After the prayer, special prayers were offered for the security of Pakistan and Palestinian Muslims and solidarity with the Palestinian people was expressed.
In the main gathering of Eid prayers, citizens brought Palestinian flags and offered Eid prayers to express solidarity with Gaza and the Palestinian people against the Israeli aggression. Later, a protest was held outside Faisal Mosque against Israel’s genocide of Palestinians.
Eid prayers were also offered in the twin city of the federal capital, Rawalpindi, under tight security. Eid prayers were offered at more than 3500 places including Liaquat Bagh, Gordon College, Eid Gah Sharif, in which millions of children of Islam participated in Eid prayers.
Citizens raised Palestinian flags to show solidarity with Palestinian Muslims. On this occasion, police along with local volunteers had made strict security arrangements.
