California: A passenger jet similar to the US B-2 stealth bomber is poised to replace Boeing planes in the aviation industry by 2030.
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently approved the test flights of the 250-passenger Pathfinder aircraft.
The aircraft is expected to cover a distance of 9,260 km on a single tank of fuel, while conventional commercial aircraft cover a distance of 6,437 km on this amount of fuel.
Aircraft maker JetZero plans to become the SpaceX of aviation by reducing fuel consumption and emissions by 50 percent compared to other airlines.
The FAA approval of the JetZero indicates that the company’s plans to build a full-size Pathfinder model and begin test flights of the aircraft are safe.
The company’s announcement of the success stated that the JetZero prototype could now begin test flights.
In a LinkedIn post shared on LinkedIn, JetZero said the company is pleased to announce that the Pathfinder, a 23-foot wingspan, is now FAA certified.
The company’s success in this endeavor was helped by the US Air Force’s investment of $235 million last year to help JetZero build a commercial-size pathfinder by 2027.
