Karachi: MQM has submitted a resolution to provide financial support to the families of those killed in street crimes.

Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Moment Pakistan has submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly to provide financial support and government jobs to the families of citizens killed in street crimes.

The resolution was submitted by MQM-Pakistan Member of Sindh Assembly Taha Ahmed Khan to the Secretary of the Assembly. It is stated in the resolution that the Sindh government has failed to provide security to the citizens. Rs 50 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased, a government job and bear the educational expenses of the children of the deceased.

It has been further stated in the resolution that the biggest city of the country is deprived of the Safe City project, it should be told why Karachi is being deprived of the Safe City project, the resolution will demand that the Safe City project should be completed immediately.

The resolution also demanded the deployment of local police officers in Karachi and said that strict action should be taken against those police stations and SHOs who fail to prevent crimes in their areas.

On the other hand, MQM Provincial Assembly Member Engineer Ejazul Haq also submitted a notice asking the provincial interior minister to tell what steps he has taken to prevent street crimes.

Member of Assembly Ijazul Haque asked the provincial interior minister to tell the House what action was taken on street crime and the deaths in them, how many cases of killing and robbery of citizens on a daily basis have been taken so far. The accused were arrested and some were punished.

In the attention notices, it has been asked that the house should be told what orders the provincial home minister has issued to stop the increasing street crimes.
