Karachi: A citizen who had withdrawn 19 lakh rupees from a bank near Landhi Future Mor was robbed in broad daylight by motorcycle-borne robbers at gunpoint and the video of the incident went viral on social media.
The CCTV footage of the robbery incident in Landhi went viral on social media and the victim’s brother said that his brother withdrew Rs 19 lakh from a private bank located on Quaidabad Dawood Chowrangi on Thursday, which is a shop at Future Mor. He had just got out of his Suzuki high-roof van in front of him when the motorcycle-riding bandits in pursuit took away the packet of cash from him at gunpoint.
He said that the other 2 accomplices of the robbers also robbed the driver of the vehicle and other persons and escaped after looting in a few seconds.
In the CCTV footage, it can be seen that out of the 4 robbers involved in the incident, 2 were wearing pant shirts and 2 were wearing shalwar kameez, 2 were wearing helmets and 2 were wearing p-caps.
Citizens who are frustrated by the incidents of street crimes in Karachi say that the loud claims of the police are true, but in any case, the police seems to be unable to arrest the street criminals.
The citizens said that the robbers rob the citizens whenever and wherever they want, while the morale of the robbers is so high that they have no fear of the closed circuit cameras installed on the streets, neighborhoods and roads and they attack the citizens in their free activities. They are depriving other things including cash and mobile phones, but they are not hesitating to kill and injure people by firing on the slightest resistance.
