Karachi: The Sindh High Court issued notices to the parties while suspending the decision of the Election Commission on the petition against the recount of PTI Member of the Sindh Assembly Sarbuland Khan from PS 112.
In the High Court, the petition against the recount of Member Sindh Assembly Sarbuland Khan was heard.
Petitioner Sarabland Khan’s lawyer stated that my client has been attending the assembly session for 2 months, but yesterday suddenly a recount was conducted in collaboration with the Election Commission. According to the rules, a recount takes place on a margin of 5 percent or less. Sir Buland Khan had a lead of 6,500 votes or 11 percent over the candidate of the People’s Party.
The court, while suspending the recount decision on behalf of the Election Commission, issued notices to the Election Commission, People’s Party candidate Muhammad Asif and others and asked the parties to respond by April 18.
The Election Commission had ordered a recount on PS 112 on April 1.
Talking to the media after the hearing, PTI leader Sarbalund Khan said that our results were changed overnight. I had 16 thousand votes in Form 45 then I lost the election by 550 votes. The new ballot papers were recovered from the ballot box without being folded, how is it possible that the voter put the ballot paper in the ballot paper without folding it.
