Karachi: Timuriya police killed 2 dacoits during an alleged encounter in Bufferzone.
While the police recovered weapons and a stolen motorcycle from the possession of the robbers, 5 cases have been registered against one of the slain robbers under the Anti-Terrorism Section and other provisions.
In this regard, SHO Timuriya Abdul Rasheed Lodhi said that while patrolling near the river in Befrozen Sector 16 AKBR, the suspects on a motorcycle were signaled by the police to stop and the accused opened fire.
The robbers were fleeing from the spot when the police chased and killed both the robbers in an exchange of fire, he said, adding that the slain robbers were identified as Faisal and Nasir.
Police recovered 2 pistols, loaded magazines and 125 motorcycles stolen from Sachal area from the possession of the accused.
The criminal record of dacoit Nasir has also come to light and two cases have been registered against him in the year 2022 in Azizabad police station, one of which includes the provisions of attempted murder, police encounter and anti-terrorism.
In the year 2023, 3 cases have been registered against the slain bandit under the provisions of attempted murder, police encounter, robbery and illegal arms recovery in Timuriya police station.
