Lahore: 32 young children were rescued from an illegal orphanage.

Child Protection and Welfare Bureau rescued 32 young children from an illegal orphanage in Gajumta area of ​​Lahore. Prior to the operation, the team visited a family orphanage set up in the Milat Town area, where young and innocent children were kept in extremely dirty conditions and conditions of neglect.

The Bureau team rescued all 32 children, including 18 boys and 14 girls, and shifted them to the Child Protection Bureau Lahore, where they will now be taken care of while the PDNC takes action against Nagina Qamar, head of the illegal orphanage. A case has been registered under Section 20A and Section 34 of Act 2004.

Chairperson of Child Protection and Welfare Bureau Punjab and member of Punjab Assembly Sara Ahmed told Express that according to the law, the organization providing accommodation to abandoned, destitute and orphaned children must be registered with the bureau. Institutions that are not registered with the Bureau can be prosecuted.
