Chalia Gatka was booked for Hyderabad at the railway booking counter in the name of baggage
Lahore: An attempt to smuggle chalia gutka supari under the guise of auto spare parts was foiled.
During an operation, the Pakistan Railway Police has registered a case in the name of auto spare parts, foiling an attempt to smuggle in huge quantities worth lakhs of rupees of harmful chalia, gutka and betel nut from Lahore to Hyderabad.
At the luggage booking counter at the railway station, the luggage was booked for Hyderabad, it was informed that there were various types of auto spare parts, which were also booked.
Acting on a tip-off, the Railway Police seized 720 kg of gutka, betel nut and chalia in 16 buras and registered an FIR. According to Railway Station SHO Ramzan Haider, the investigation has been started after foiling the smuggling attempt. The accused will be arrested soon.
