Karachi: The court summoned Malir Development Authority officials, Deputy Commissioner Malir and elected representatives in the case of a child falling into an open manhole in Shah Latif Town area of Shahr Quaid.
A hearing was held on the petition of the deceased child Mohsin’s grandfather, Ghazi Khan, in Model Trial Court Malir Number One. The petitioner has accused all officers and elected representatives of negligence in the death of the child.
The petition stated that 4-year-old Mohsin died after falling into an open drain on March 21, following which an FIR under Section 22 AB was sought.
The court ordered the officers and local body representatives to appear themselves. The Model Court ordered that DC Malir, Municipal Commissioner Ibrahim Hydari appear in person.
Apart from this, the judge directed Town Chairman Ibrahim Haidari Shah Latif, UC Chairman and Vice Chairman to appear on April 6.
