KP Assembly;  An appeal was filed against the decision to take oath from members on specific seats

Peshawar: Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has filed a review petition against the Peshawar High Court decision regarding taking oath of elected members on specific seats.

Through the mediation of Ali Azim Afridi, the Speaker filed a review petition.

The position adopted in the application was that the Peshawar High Court has ordered the oath-taking of the elected members on certain seats, but the requisition has not yet come to the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly to convene the meeting, while the court has declared in the judgment that the members should be sworn-in. .

According to the petitioner, there is no meeting of the assembly and no requisition has come, so how to take oath from the members, so the court should review the decision.

The provincial government, Election Commission, Secretary Law and others have been made parties in the petition.
