Karachi: A passer-by was killed in an encounter between police and robbers near Ayub Goth river in Sohrab Goth area.
According to SHO Sohrab Goth Shehzad Ilyas, two suspects on a motorcycle were fleeing after looting in Ayub Goth when the police officers on patrol spotted the suspects.
When the police tried to arrest the accused, the robbers fired indiscriminately, as a result of which a bullet hit the passer-by Kanchi in the chest and he died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the public started chasing the accused along with the police, after going some distance, the police again challenged the accused, the accused opened fire once again.
After retaliatory firing by the police, one accused, Naseem Abdul Ghafoor, was arrested in an injured state and 2 pistols and a motorcycle were recovered from his possession, while the other accused escaped on foot.
The police took the body of the deceased to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the doctors conducted the post-mortem and the police handed over the body to the heirs after taking legal action.
Speaking to the media in the hospital, the brother of the deceased said that the deceased used to work in a factory and was a resident of Ayub Goth. The deceased left behind three daughters, a son and a widow. was
The heirs have appealed that the accused involved in the incident should be arrested and brought to justice. The police say that with the help of the arrested injured accused, it will be easy to catch the other accused, the accused will be arrested soon.
It should be remembered that during this year, 48 citizens have been attacked by robbers, including a young girl, a police officer and other people.
