Islamabad: Bar associations have demanded a transparent inquiry into the issue of the High Court judges’ letter.
A joint statement was issued by Islamabad Bar Council, Islamabad Bar Association and Islamabad High Court Bar Association on the issue of letter of 6 judges of Islamabad High Court regarding interference in judicial affairs to the Supreme Judicial Council.
The emergency meeting of Islamabad Bar Council and both Bar Associations was chaired by Vice Chairman Adil Aziz Qazi, in which President Islamabad Bar Association Rasht Ali Azad, President Islamabad High Court Bar Association Raja Shakeel Abbasi participated.
According to the declaration, Islamabad Bar Council and Bar Associations believe in the rule of law, independent, independent judiciary. Islamabad Bar Council and Bar Associations appreciate the courage and bravery of the judges. The legal community of Islamabad strongly resists the interference of any institution in another institution.
The Bar Associations statement further said that the Islamabad Bar Council and Bar Associations demand a transparent inquiry into the matter and demand legal action against those involved in the matter. The lawyers of Islamabad will be the vanguard to prevent any unconstitutional action and independence of the judiciary.
The declaration further said that the lawyers of Islamabad will take all necessary steps for the supremacy of law and constitution. For the sake of the independence of the judiciary, lawyers representative convention, nationwide lawyers convention, strike, hunger strike, movement will not be hesitated.
