Instruction not to issue challan from 5pm to Iftar in Karachi

Karachi: DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz Cheema has instructed that citizens should not be issued challans from five o’clock in the evening till Iftar and officers or officials should not misbehave with citizens.

DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz Cheema gave the policy guideline in his first address to subordinate officers at the Scout Auditorium after assuming charge of his post.

He directed that ensuring the flow of traffic in the city is one of the top priorities, traffic officials should behave well with the public. The DIG directed that no traffic police officer will issue a challan from 5 pm to Iftar but will ensure the flow of traffic so that citizens can easily reach their homes and break fast.

Ahmed Nawaz Cheema said that if someone violates traffic rules along with his family, he should be given a warning instead of a challan and should be guided while focusing on one-way violation, which not only leads to Accidents happen but the flow of traffic is affected.

He has clearly issued orders that if officers and officials misbehave or quarrel with anyone, then departmental action will be taken against them. , parking of rickshaws and motorcycles cause traffic flow so parking should be stopped at these places.

The DIG directed that the driving officer will not issue a challan without a body-warn camera and the officers and officials will not stand together, ensure the restriction of fast lane on Shahrah Faisal and also motorcyclists in the left lane. Give walking directions.

He further said that the officers should stop the parking of rickshaws with extra seats. Ahmad Nawaz Cheema said that all the sections will display the lifting timing boards according to their areas and a specific time for lifting the vehicles should be fixed.
