Lahore: In Punjab, the Sui Northern Gas Company has demanded a huge increase in gas price for the third time in a year.
Ogra will hold a hearing on gas price hike on March 25 in Lahore. According to Ogra, the Sui Northern Company has proposed a price of Rs 4489 per mmbtu.
According to sources, due to the increase in gas price, the bills will increase by an average of 155 percent, before it has increased by 500 percent in a year, but despite this, the company has not been able to reduce its losses.
During the hearing tomorrow, the domestic industrial sector will argue for not increasing the gas. Stakeholders were never heard in the past but prices were always increased at the behest of the company and the Ogra hearing was only a means of completing the legal process.
It has been decided to increase the gas price in any case from July 1 on the influence of the IMF.
