Karachi: Pakistan Customs Jinnah International Airport Collectorate Enforcement has foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of foreign currency while operating at the Jinnah International Departure Lounge.

Additional Collector Customs Muhammad Faisal said that the staff at the departure lounge checked the luggage of the passenger going to Dubai without suspicion and 50 thousand Saudi Riyals were recovered from the luggage of the passenger.

Mohammad Faisal said that a passenger named Asad Ahmed was going to Dubai from flight EA603. The passenger had hidden Saudi Riyals in his bag.

He said that passengers going abroad are allowed to carry 5 thousand dollars or its equivalent foreign currency, but the passenger was trying to carry more than twice the limit of 37 lakh Pakistani rupees worth of Saudi Riyals.
