Karachi: Counter-terrorism department and federal sensitive agency arrested Wali Rehman, a terrorist belonging to banned organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, near Mangho Peer Road, Norris Chowrangi.
According to the statement issued by the CTD spokesperson, hand grenades and other important items were recovered from the arrested accused. The arrested accused belongs to Commander Azmatullah alias Tariq group.
The arrested accused along with his other associates had attacked Pakistan Army and FC in South Waziristan in the year 2004 in which Pakistan Army and FC jawans were martyred. Similarly, in the year 2006, the accused along with his accomplices attacked FC Fort Suploi and in 2007, along with Commander Ahmed Hasan alias Safir, martyred a member of the Peace Committee, Tarkistan.
The accused received training from the slain commander Qari Hussain, but fled to Dubai in 2009 fearing arrest. A case has been registered in the CTD police station and further investigation is underway.
