Lahore: Chairperson Child Protection Bureau and Member Provincial Assembly Punjab Sarah Ahmed won another big honor for Pakistan. Chairperson Sara Ahmed was honored with the “International Woman of Courage” award.
Sarah Ahmed was given this honor by US Ambassador Donald Bloom in Islamabad. Sara Ahmed is the first Pakistani woman to receive this award, she was given this award in recognition of her heroic fight against child abuse and beggar mafia and for her services to children.
It should be noted that Sara Ahmed has also been awarded the Tagha Imtiaz in recognition of her services to the Government of Pakistan. Sara Ahmed received the International Collaborative Award in Italy and has represented Pakistan on child rights at the United Nations.
Sara Ahmed says that receiving the International Woman of Courage award is an honor for me and Pakistan. He said that my aim is to provide protection to all helpless and neglected children and to prevent exploitation of children and protect them from beggar mafia.
Sara Ahmed said that more than 5 thousand exploited and beggar children were rescued and worked on their welfare, 133 abandoned newborns were given to suitable families for adoption.
