Islamabad: PTI founding leader Akbar S. Babar demanded an investigation into the secret accounts of the party.
In a letter written to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, PTI’s founding leader Akbar S. Babar said that it has been 20 months since the decision of PTI foreign funding case was made, but it has not been implemented.
He said that despite being pointed out, no legal action has been taken yet regarding PTI’s foreign bank accounts. Illegal foreign secret bank accounts are unlikely to be used in anti-national activities.
Akbar S. Babar further said that despite the illegal foreign funding of PTI being proved, detailed and thorough legal action has not come out on this matter of national security which is disturbing. All aspects of the August 2022 decision of the Election Commission in the foreign funding case should be fully implemented.
The former PTI leader said that it is a crime for any political party to open bank accounts in foreign countries and keep them secret. Legal action should also be taken against all those Pakistani citizens who are harming the reputation of the country by using these secret foreign and illegal accounts.
