Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested three suspects of the group who pretended to be bank representatives.
According to the spokesperson of FIA, Cyber Crime Circle Karachi raided the call center called Generation 96 involved in illegal activities, 3 suspects were arrested from Gulshan Iqbal area of Karachi.
According to the FIA spokesman, the arrested suspects include Abdul Hameed, Shahan Afzal and Noman Ali. The accused used to make fake calls by pretending to be bank representatives. Debit card details were obtained and misused.
The accused used the forged debit cards to purchase air tickets and hotel bookings. The said cards were also used to pay admission fees for local and international students while the accused have been using debit cards for various transactions including property purchase.
While the accused used to trick customers into purchasing various products, the accused also created fake websites. Despite receiving money from the accused, the products were not delivered, investigation has been started against the arrested accused, raids are being conducted to arrest other accused.
