Lahore: The time for submitting nomination papers for the Senate elections has ended and a total of 28 candidates have submitted their nomination papers for 12 Senate seats in Punjab.
According to Express News, 17 candidates for the 7 general seats of the Senate in Punjab are Pervez Rasheed, Talal Chaudhry, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahad Cheema, Ejaz Hussain Minhas, Mohsin Naqvi, former Governor Punjab Umar Sarfaraz Cheema, Waleed Iqbal, Wasim. Shahzad, Hamid Khan submitted nomination papers.
Apart from them, PTI’s Syed Zulfikar Abbas, Nasir Mehmood, Raja Nasir Abbas, Irfan Ahmad Khan, Raja Habibur Rehman have also submitted their nomination papers for the Senate seat.
5 candidates Faiza Ahmed, Muslim League (N)’s Anusha Rehman, Bushra Anjum Butt, PTI’s Sanam Javed have submitted nomination papers for two women’s seats and Tariq Javed and Asif Ashiq’s nomination papers have been submitted for minority seats. .
Dr. Yasmin Rashid of PTI and Mustafa Ramde of Muslim League (N) submitted their nomination papers for the seat of technocrats.
On the other hand, an election tribunal has been established in the Lahore High Court where Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan will hear the petitions related to the Senate election and the Election Commission has also issued a notification in this regard.
