Karachi: Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed the Excise Department to take action against all kinds of drugs under the zero tolerance policy.
A high-level meeting of the Excise Department was chaired by Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, in which he directed the participants to take action under the zero-tolerance policy against drugs. Sharjeel Inam Memon issued strict orders to immediately stop all types of drugs including crystal, heroin, ice, hashish, raw liquor.
Excise Secretary Atifur Rahman, Excise DG Aurangzeb Panhour, Divisional Directors and others participated in the meeting. In the meeting, Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the excise department has to ensure the collection of taxes according to the instructions and targets of the Sindh government.
He said that the goals that the government has given to the excise department must be achieved. We have to work under zero tolerance policy against all kinds of drugs. Officers report on their performance on daily basis. The concerned directors of the Excise Department go to the field themselves and ensure the achievement of the targets. Every officer has to perform to achieve the goals.
The Provincial Minister was also directed to inform the Excise Secretary in writing about the performance of the officers. Sharjeel Inam Memon said that action will be taken against the employee of the department who works without uniform. Officers with good performance will be encouraged. Action will be taken against the negligent officers in case of human loss due to raw liquor.
He said that people should be informed about tax collection.
