Karachi: Instructions have been issued to complete the installation of modern cameras at the entry and exit points of cities in Sindh this month.
In the meeting presided over by IG Sindh Rafat Mukhtar Raja, a review meeting was held regarding the progress made so far on the Sindh Smart Surveillance System S4 project.
IG Sindh gave instructions that the installation of modern cameras at the internal and external points of the city should be completed by this month and all possible connections and support should be ensured in this regard.
He said that the installation of special cameras at the entrance and exit points of the province will strengthen the police operations against crimes and it will be possible to identify the vehicles entering and exiting the cities.
During the briefing, DIGIT told the meeting about the issues so far under the Sindh Smart Surveillance System S4 that modern cameras have been installed at 18 entry and exit points of Sindh. Apart from M9, the facility of cameras is active at 16 locations in Karachi, while the advanced cameras will be activated soon at selected locations in other districts of Sindh.
On this occasion, IG Sindh also visited the S-Forum project established in the Command and Control Center. Additional IG Karachi, DIGs, Headquarters, IT, Establishment, RRA including AIGs IT, Operations, Command and Control Center CPO, and Project Director IT participated in the meeting.
