Peshawar: Modern heart surgery has been started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the first operation in this regard was successful.
There is good news for the patients who are afraid of big cut and injury in heart surgery that modern method of treatment of heart surgery through small cut has been started in Peshawar Institute of Cardiology. Taking another step towards international treatment, the cardiac surgery team performed a successful operation.
According to Cardiac Surgeon Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Tariq, minimal incision or small cut surgery does not require cutting the entire chest bone which is usually done in heart surgeries. Small incision surgery is expected to be less painful for the patient and heal faster.
He said that in this procedure, the patient will be able to recover quickly and start daily life quickly. This advanced treatment method will be used for valve surgery, bypass and open heart surgeries.
Head of Cardiac Surgery PIC, Dr. Abdul Nasser, said that the chances of infection in small-cut surgery will be less, which is important. He wants international standard treatment to be easily available to the citizens here. PIC has introduced several innovative treatments for heart diseases, which is a matter of pride. The patients of not only KP but also Afghanistan will benefit from the small incision surgery.
