Punjab Chief Minister's order to provide milk to students in government schools

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has ordered to give canned milk to students in government schools of the province.

The important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, in which a detailed briefing was given for reforms in school education. Maryam Nawaz also approved the decision to reconstitute the School Education Council and the restructuring of the Punjab Curriculum Wing.

Maryam Nawaz also directed to restore morning assembly in government schools. Apart from this, he also issued an order to provide canned milk to meet the nutritional needs of the students. In this regard, the pilot project will start in schools in Rajanpur district, where students will be given flavored milk with the support of Engro Foods. Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to start the project of providing milk for students with private collaboration across the province.

Expressing concern over the issues of the Textbook and Curriculum Board, Chief Minister Punjab expressed anger over the delay in providing textbooks to the students and called for a comprehensive plan to gradually switch schools across the province to solar energy.

Maryam Nawaz reviewed the proposal to start afternoon classes and evening coaching centers in government schools and directed all possible steps to restore better and quality education in government schools. He said that education according to international standards is the right of every child studying in a government school.
