Karachi: The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Election Commission and others on the application of Alamgir Khan, an independent candidate from NA-236, regarding the provision of Form 45.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi heard the application regarding the provision of Form 45 of independent candidate Alamgir Khan from NA-236.
The Chief Justice remarked that the Election Commission has uploaded all the documents on the website, people have taken oath and the assemblies have been formed, you were supposed to come at the same time, now the forms have been uploaded.
The petitioner’s counsel submitted that the election petition has to be filed but Form 45 has not been received yet. Form 45 of NA 236 has not been uploaded yet.
The Chief Justice inquired that the Additional Advocate General should open the Election Commission’s website and see if there is Form 45 or not. The public prosecutor informed the court that there is no Form 45 of NA 236 on the website.
The Chief Justice inquired that all the documents have to be uploaded. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that no form NA 236 including form 45 and 47 has been uploaded by the Election Commission.
The Public Advocate took the stand that Form 47 of NA 236 is available on the website of the Election Commission. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that Form 45 was not provided by the Election Commission. The court issued notices to the Election Commission and others.
The court also summoned the Election Commission official on March 21 asking for reasons for not uploading Form 45 of NA 236 yet.
