Karachi: Additional District and Sessions Judge Gharbi sentenced the accused to 2 years imprisonment in the case of marriage with a minor (15 years old) girl.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Gharbi Irshad Hussain pronounced the decision of the case against the accused Muhammad Aslam for marrying a young girl, in which the court sentenced the accused to 2 years imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, the accused performed a court marriage with a 15-year-old minor girl resident of Orangi Town, Sector 4/F, Mominabad Police Station. Marriage witnesses and bridegroom are fugitives. In the marriage certificate, the age of the girl was written as 19 years, but in the medical examination, the age of the girl was proved to be 15 years.
A case of kidnapping was registered on the complaint of the girl’s father. Later, a challan was filed against the accused, Nikah Khan and witnesses of the marriage under the provisions of the Sindh Child Restraint Marriage Act. The girl said in her statement that she got married of her own free will, however, the court sentenced her for the crime of marrying a minor girl.
