Peshawar: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 11 thousand people suffered from stomach and gastrointestinal diseases during one week.
A report has been released by the Integrated Diseases Surveillance and Response System, according to which more than 11,000 infected cases have been reported in 35 districts of the province from February 26 to March 3 (only in one week).
The report states that contaminated water, poor diet, environmental pollution and other factors are causing gastrointestinal diseases. The most affected cases have been reported from Peshawar 1936 while Swat 909, Haripur 866, Bannu 723, Dir Lower 705, DI Khan 609 cases have been reported. Apart from this, 590 cases have been reported from Swabi, 524 from Charsadda, 375 from Tank, 360 from Mansehra, 328 from Abbottabad.
