Rawalpindi: 2 children were killed and many others were injured in 3 separate incidents of gas leakage explosion in the twin city of Rawalpindi, the federal capital.
2 children who were injured in the fire due to gas leakage explosion in Bhabra Bazar area were shifted to the hospital, however, Ayat Fatima and Arham succumbed to their injuries.
According to the rescue officials, gas was accumulated in the room due to leakage, when the electricity switch was turned on, there was a sudden explosion, in which 2 children and their mother were burnt. Later, the children succumbed to their injuries, while their injured mother’s body is also 50 percent burnt, according to hospital sources, the condition of the woman under treatment at Benazir Bhutto Hospital is critical.
The second incident of gas leakage explosion took place in Tench Abadi No. 2 area of Rawalpindi, in which 2 persons named Abdullah and Hasan were injured. The third incident of gas leakage in Rawalpindi within a few hours took place in Waris Khan area of Arya Mahal, in which 5 people were burnt due to fire, who have been shifted to the hospital. Those who were burnt in the fire have been identified as Intizar, Riaz Ahmed, Parveen, 26-year-old Ambrin, and 15-year-old Amber.
