Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to start the biggest environmental and forest conservation project in the province.
In a meeting chaired by Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb in Lahore, instructions were given to make Punjab smog-free and prepare a plan to eliminate disposable plastic bags.
The meeting also decided on amendments to make the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) functional, digitize and bring the Punjab Forest Act in line with existing requirements.
Apart from this, planning with the participation of the private sector for the elimination of air pollution in the province, conducting the first zoological survey in the history of Punjab and implementing the Chief Minister’s Plan for Pakistan vision were also approved in the meeting.
In the meeting chaired by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzee, approval was also given to establish the first international fish market in Lahore, to upgrade the wildlife department according to modern standards and technology, to create Punjab’s first digital wildlife archive and wildlife protection force. .
