Mehmood Achakzai's request to postpone the presidential election was rejected

Islamabad: The Election Commission rejected Mahmood Achakzai’s request to postpone the presidential election.

A written decision has been issued on the request of Mehmood Khan Achakzai by the Election Commission on the request of postponing the presidential election. The written decision of the Election Commission stated that the petitioner did not raise any objection to the Electoral College during the scrutiny of the nomination papers. The Electoral College is fully operational for the presidential election.

The Election Commission said in its decision that the National and Provincial Assemblies elected the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers.

It should be noted that Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the candidate supported by the opposition parties, filed a request for the postponement of the presidential election.
