Torkham border;  Afghan forces firing at FC check posts, personnel injured

Commercial activities, including foot traffic, are suspended at the border crossing (Photo File).

Khyber: On the Torkham border, Afghan forces opened fire on FC check posts, in which one FC official was injured.

According to FC sources, two-way firing is continuing at the Torkham border crossing, but no major casualties have been reported except for the injury of one FC official. The injured FC personnel have been shifted to CMH Lindi Kotal.

According to official sources, the Afghan security authorities closed the Torkham border crossing for all traffic last evening, since then the Torkham border crossing remains closed and commercial activities including foot traffic are suspended.

Last evening, an Afghan citizen tried to enter Pakistan without travel documents accompanying the patient. The passage was closed for all traffic last evening.
