Peshawar: The petition filed in the Peshawar High Court for the specific seats of Sunni Ittehad Council was fixed for hearing tomorrow.
A 5-member larger bench of Peshawar High Court will hear the petition of Sunni Unity Council, the larger bench includes Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, Justice Ijaz Anwar, Justice Atiq Shah, Justice Shakeel Ahmed and Justice Arshad Ali.
Earlier, the Peshawar High Court had issued an injunction till yesterday on the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the Election Commission’s decision not to allot specific seats to the Sunni Union Council.
PTI had taken the stand by making the Election Commission, Muslim League-N, PPP, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, MQM and other political parties a party that we have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council, the specific seats in the election in proportion to the general seats. are given but seats are not given to Sunni Ittehad Council, specific seats can be allotted even after election.
The Peshawar High Court, after the arguments of PTI’s lawyer Qazi Anwar, issued an order of injunction till tomorrow, sought answers from the Election Commission and other parties and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
The court, while preventing the new members of the Assembly elected on certain seats from taking oath, directed that the Speaker should not administer the oath to women and minority members elected on certain seats till tomorrow.
