Turkey has ended the rescue operation in most of the affected provinces after the devastating earthquake, while announcing that the full operation will end in the next few hours.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) says search and rescue operations in most provinces have ended nearly two weeks after this month’s devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
The death toll from the earthquake has reached 40,642 and the search and evacuation of people buried under the debris has ended in most provinces, AFAD chief Yunus Cesar said in a press conference.
