Lahore: In view of the arrest of Mian Aslam Iqbal, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan as its candidate for Chief Minister of Punjab.
General Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Acting President of Punjab Hamad Azhar issued a message in this regard on the social networking site X.
He wrote that Mian Aslam Iqbal was nominated by the founder chairman Imran Khan as a candidate for the Chief Minister of Punjab, but the police of the entire province are present around the assembly to arrest him and there is a fear that he will be detained.

According to Hammad Azhar, in this situation Mian Aslam Iqbal and the party leadership have nominated Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan as the candidate for the Chief Minister of Punjab after consultation. He claimed that Rana Aftab also has the support of more than 212 members, he has been elected five times as a member of the provincial assembly.
Hammad Azhar wrote that PML-N, which killed the night of democracy, has only about 40 genuine members and all the rest are the products of the fake February 9 rejections.
