Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Malik Ahmed is likely to be made the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
Before the Punjab Assembly meeting, a meeting of the Muslim League-N Punjab Parliamentary Party was held which was chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
Zaheer Chanan, who won the provincial seat from Bahawalpur, will be the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
On the other hand, it has been decided to make the Party’s Central Information Secretary Maryam Aurangzeb a member of the Punjab Assembly, Maryam Aurangzeb will take oath as a member of the Punjab Assembly for the first time.
Party leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and party president Shehbaz Sharif took the decision in consultation. Maryam Aurangzeb will assist the Chief Minister in Punjab province.
Maryam Aurangzeb has held the position of Member of National Assembly twice and Minister of Information twice in the Federation.
