Women's T20 World Cup: West Indies beat Pakistan by 3 runs

West Indies defeated Pakistan by 3 runs in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match.

In the match played in Paarl, South Africa, the West Indies women’s team won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 116 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Nida Dar dismissed two players while Fatima Sana, Sadia Iqbal, Tuba Hasan and Nashera Sindhu took one wicket each. Rashada Williams of West Indies scored 30 and Hayley Mathews 20 and Shaman Campbell scored 22 runs.

Chasing the target, Pakistan’s batting line-up faltered early on, opening pair Muniba Ali and Sudra Amin were dismissed for 5 and 8 runs respectively, after which skipper Bisma scored 26 runs and Nida Dar 27 runs to keep the hope of victory alive.

In the end, Alia Riaz took an aggressive approach but could not give the team victory and she got out after scoring 29 runs. Pakistan team managed to score 113 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and faced defeat by three runs.

After this defeat, Pakistan has two points in three matches in the World Cup. Pakistan will play their next match against England on Tuesday.
