Order to restore other apps including X (Twitter) in the country

The Internet was closed, people were not allowed to contest the elections, the world is going crazy, the Sindh High Court

Karachi: The Sindh High Court ordered the restoration of other apps including Twitter on petitions against internet service shutdown in the country.

The Supreme Court said in a dialogue with the public prosecutor that you guys have conducted a very good election.

A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi heard the petitions against the shutdown of internet services in the country.

The Chief Justice remarked that you shut down the internet, you did not allow people to contest elections. You people did not allow anyone to run an election campaign.

PTA’s counsel submitted that instructions come from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which have to be implemented.

The court remarked that what are the security concerns for running the democratic process?

The PTA counsel stated that the instructions we received were implemented.

The Chief Justice said in a dialogue with the public prosecutor that a very good election has been conducted by you people and there is a lot of buzz going on all over the world. If things get out of hand then try to fix things. You guys do your job better, we’ll do ours. On whose instructions was the internet service closed on election day?

The court ordered the restoration of other apps, including Twitter, and adjourned the hearing till March 5, seeking an explanation from the concerned authorities regarding the suspension of internet service on election day.
