Islamabad: The IMF has demanded Pakistan to withdraw subsidies from the rich class and collect taxes, saying that Pakistan needs strict measures to run the country, not debt restructuring.
While giving an interview to a foreign broadcasting organization, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said that Pakistan does not need debt restructuring but tough measures to run the country.
MDIMF said that we are demanding from Pakistan such steps that it desperately needs so that it can run as a country and not reach a dangerous point where it needs to be rebuilt.
Kristalina Georgieva said that we are emphasizing two things, firstly that the tax revenue, be it the public sector or the private sector, should give more tax to those who earn more, and the second thing is to subsidize only those who earn more. really needs it.
MDIMF expressed grief over the damage caused by the recent floods in Pakistan, affecting one-third of the population.
Meanwhile, due to Pakistan’s rapid implementation of IMF’s strict conditions, the national possibility of finalizing the staff level agreement in the next few days is being shown.
