Karachi: On the direction of the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, various notifications were issued regarding the moderation of the results of the first year 2023 and the decisions taken in connection with the upcoming examinations.
Commissioner Karachi and Acting Chairman of Higher Secondary Education Board Karachi Salim Rajput have issued five different notifications related to the decisions made in connection with the moderation of the results of Inter-year 1st year 2023 and the upcoming examinations of Inter-year 1st and 2nd on the instructions of the Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh.
This relevant instruction was given by the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh on the recommendation of the fact-finding committee established to check the results of Interyear 1.
According to the notification issued by the board, a committee has been constituted which will consist of representatives of the Controller of Examination (Convener), College Education Department and Department of Universities and Board.
This committee will moderate the marks under the moderation scheme recommended by the fact-finding committee of the results 2023 of Interyear 1st Science, Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and General Science. This moderation will be done after the ongoing scrutiny. I will complete.
According to a separate notification, the marking scheme and paper pattern of the annual examinations conducted under the board in the next three years will remain the same, the notification will be applicable from the year 2024 to 2026.
According to a further notification, a separate committee will consist of one representative from the Secretary Board of Intermediate, IT Manager, NED and University of Karachi and one representative from the IT Department of the Government of Sindh.
This committee will decide the rules for use of OMR machine for assessment of questions containing MCQs in future examinations so as to avoid human error in this regard.
Similarly, under a separate notification, the number of facilitation centers for centralized assessment of examination copies has been increased from four to 10 to bring uniformity in the assessment process.
Moreover, the convener of another committee will be Regional Director Colleges Karachi while other members will include Secretary Interboard, Controller of Examination, Deputy Secretary and IT Manager.
The committee will train and regulate the examiners and deputy head examiners to expand the training and preparation of the examiners, the committee will also evaluate the existing assessment mechanism.
