Klarkahar: An accident took place on the Kallar Kahar Motorway in Chakwal district of Punjab, in which 9 people including two women were killed and there are fears of more deaths.
According to Express News, the bus of Baratis going back to Lahore from Islamabad collided with several vehicles and overturned in Kalarkahar Motorway Salt Ranger. The bus was carrying 86 people from the same family, none of whom got time to get out and the driver could not control the vehicle due to the high speed.
After the accident, Rescue 1122 volunteers reached the spot, removed the dead bodies and 63 injured and shifted them to the nearest hospital. According to the spokesperson Rescue 1122, the condition of most of the injured is critical and they have been shifted to the trauma center of Klarkahar.
So far, 9 people have died in the accident while 34 have been injured, many of whom are in serious condition. Two women are also included in the dead.
Eyewitnesses said that after bursting the tire, the bus went out of control and hit the vehicle and broke the safety wall and came to the other road.
The spokesman of the Motorway Police said that the condition of several people in the accident is critical, three people are still trapped in the bus, who are being tried to get out by cutting the bus. He said that the bus overturned due to brake failure due to which two cars coming from the opposite direction and a Suzuki pick-up were also hit.
According to the spokesperson of the Motorway Police, due to the darkness, there is a problem in the rescue activities, however Rescue 1122 and volunteers of the Motorway are engaged in the rescue work.
