Kohistan: The river Indus has been successfully diverted at Dasu Hydro Project in Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This is the first tunnel to divert the river Indus for the construction of a dam and the first phase of the Dasu Hydro Project is expected to produce electricity in 2026.
The project director, contractor and consultant were present on the occasion and a large number of engineers and workers working on the project were also present.

These construction activities are for the preliminary design of the dam and soon after their completion the construction of Dasu Dam will begin.
WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Retired Sajjad Ghani has praised the project management for achieving a major milestone.
The 4320 MW Dasu Hydro Project is planned to be completed in two phases.
