Islamabad: Independent candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Shaukat Basra reached the Election Commission with Holy Quran.
In the Election Commission of Pakistan, a hearing was held in NA-163 Bahawalnagar constituency of the National Assembly. A 2-member bench comprising ECP member KP and Balochistan held the hearing. On this occasion, the defeated PTI-backed candidate Shaukat Basra reached the Election Commission with the Holy Quran.
Shaukat Basra Election Commission said that I swear by placing my hand on the Quran that I won. I swear that the RO did not call me to compile the results. You also issued a notification to Ijaz-ul-Haq before the case was decided.
He said that if you (Election Commission) ask Ijaz-ul-Haq to swear on the Holy Quran, I will withdraw my case. Member KP said that you should not swear on Holy Quran, there is a separate place for that.
Later, the Election Commission decided to issue a notice to the successful candidate Ijaz-ul-Haq and postponed the next hearing of the case till February 27.
