Karachi: Sirjani Town Police arrested 8 kidnappers including 3 police officers of Gulshan Iqbal Division AVLC and recovered government weapons and police mobile and recovered the hostage.
According to the details, on Thursday night in Sirjani Town Sector 4D, police mobile and people dressed in police uniform raided the general store and kidnapped Saqib who was working there and took the employee’s mobile with them. He called its owner Syed Junaid from the phone and demanded a ransom of one lakh rupees for his release.
Junaid immediately reported the incident to the Sarjani Town Police, on which the police registered a case number 204 of 2024 under section 365 A. In which the plaintiff ASI Nawaz Jamali has stated that he along with Syed Junaid was busy searching for the accused and the hostages. He stopped and pointed to the official mobile parked on the side of the road and said that the hostage Saqib is in this mobile.
On which he stopped the police mobile and surrounded the police mobile along with other policemen and the plaintiff Syed Junaid pointed to a person sitting on the floor at the back side and said that this is Saqib, the employee of my shop. When the police informed him, Saqib said that the people in the police mobile had picked him up from the general store Sector 4 D Sarjani and were demanding money to leave, on which the complainant police officer told the people in the official police mobile. When questioned, they gave their names as Abrar, Zafar Ali, Arsalan, Nadeem Ahmed, Nadeem Ansari, Abdul Rehman, Asad Rasool and Rana Sajid.
During the search of all the persons, the mobile phones and cash found in their possession were seized by the police, while the official SMG loaded magazine of 10 bullets in the right hand of Zafar Ali was seized in the right hand of Arsalan Ali. The official SMG loaded magazine and 15 bullets, while a 30 bore pistol loaded magazine and 6 bullets were recovered from the right side of the pants worn by Abdul Rahman and the hostage was recovered.
According to the plaintiff’s case, out of the 8 accused, 3 accused Abrar, Zafar and Arsalan said that they are police employees and revealed their posting in Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) Gulshan Iqbal, however the police arrested all the accused. The Sarjani Town police station later handed him over for further investigation to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell, which is interrogating the arrested policemen on other aspects including the in-charge of their police party and alleged abuse of authority and official authority by the policemen. The illegal use of the police mobile was done on whose request, while the other 5 arrested accused are said to be police informers who find the victims and kidnap them with the help of the police and collect ransom for their release.
