My mother is eighty years old. Although she is suffering from hepatitis C and other diseases of old age, her overall health is good. But for some time he was suffering from wandering. Especially the thing or event that happened a few minutes ago is forgotten. We, the family, are shocked and worried as to how she got into this strange condition. This secret was finally revealed by a modern medical research.

What happened was that researchers from American universities, the University of Southern California and the University of Arizona reviewed the research that was conducted on 50,000 men and women over the course of seven years. All these people are above sixty years of age. A special medical device was placed on the wrists of these people, which they wore 24 hours a week for six months. No one was suffering from forgetfulness then.

This medical device was capable of detecting whether the wearer was sitting or moving. Asleep or awake. Thus, the device kept an eye on the wearer around the clock and noted his movements. It helped the researchers find out who watched more TV, played video games or worked at a desk. And who walks more?

Fifty thousand men and women went through this routine every week for six months. Then the researchers began to note the physical and mental health status of all of them every six months. Now, six years later, this unique research has revealed that men and women who sat for most of the day, i.e. more than ten hours, became victims of amnesia or dementia.

My mother also spends most of the day in bed for the last five or six years. This period becomes more than ten hours per day. Due to pain in his knees, his walking has become very less. Now this research has revealed why they gradually went astray. Their mobility is very low and they spend twelve to thirteen hours out of twenty four hours lying or sitting in bed. This made him suffer from dementia. Now, we as a family are trying to move as much as possible during the day to protect against dementia.

Recently it was revealed that famous actor, Talat Hussain is also battling with dementia. His age has been eighty-three years. They have been living a sedentary life for a long time. This also caused him to suffer from amnesia.

Due to homelessness, an elderly person (and also a disabled young person) becomes more dependent on their family. Now everyone has to keep an eye on him round the clock because he can unknowingly do any dangerous thing and harm himself. We pray to Allah Almighty to protect all the weak and disabled people of Pakistan from the disease of forgetfulness which increases the anxiety and activity of the family members.

There are different types of amnesia. All these diseases are caused by a defect in brain cells or neurons in the brain. Our brain has eighty to ninety billion neurons. These brain cells create our thinking and consciousness and do all human work. It is very important to keep them healthy so that a person can perform daily activities well. Defects in these make him prone to wandering and mobility problems.

A disease caused by a malfunction in the brain cells is called a “neurodegenerative disease” in medical terms. And the way in which the brain cells are damaged or dysfunctional is called “neurodegeneration” in medicine. There are three subtypes of neurodegenerative diseases: dementia, extrapyramidal and movement disorders, and mitochondrial disease. These subtypes are further subtypes. For example, a well-known subtype of dementia is Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease).

Remember that forgetting things and events is just one symptom of dementia. If the spread of this disease continues, anxiety and panic also arise in the person. He is unable to express his feelings properly. Some men and women become aggressive with dementia. They get angry on small things. Generally, patients with this disease are also suffering from high blood pressure or diabetes.

Medical experts who have conducted research on fifty thousand men and women for seven years have also learned from their experience that the more time a person spends sitting or lying down, the faster and more severely he falls into the grip of dementia. As if a person who remains sitting or lying down for fifteen hours for any reason increases the risk that he will gradually become a target of wandering. Especially when he is old and infirm.

Medical experts also know from their research that the total time spent sitting and lying down in a twenty-four hour period is the most important. This means that doctors often say that if you get up after half an hour and walk for a few minutes, the damage caused by sitting too much can be significantly reduced. But according to the above research, this process becomes meaningless when people start spending 11 to 12 hours sitting or lying down. Then sooner or later he becomes subject to dementia.

Experts are still not able to know 100% how sitting or lying too much causes a person to suffer from vertigo. They believe that this behavior leads to weight gain. Inflammation occurs in the body. Less blood reaches the brain. Blood pressure increases. Due to all these disorders, brain cells are also disrupted and dementia begins in humans. Experts have warned people who sit a lot that they can suffer from cancer, back pain and other disorders due to their lifestyle.

Therefore, especially men and women over fifty years of age should try to sit for less than ten hours a day and do exercise to avoid dementia and other deadly diseases. An unnatural lifestyle can deprive you of the world’s most important and valuable asset…good health.
