London: Experts have developed engineered flour to prevent obesity and reduce indiscriminate overeating. It gives an immediate feeling of fullness after eating and on the other hand it can also keep the blood glucose level normal.
The reason is that the flour is specially made from chickpeas, beans and other types of pulses in such a way that it retains the properties of the flour. Thus, it gives an instant feeling of satiety and is also beneficial for diabetes and heart as it contains highly beneficial ingredients.
The grinding process has been specially modified to make it into regular flour. It was specially developed by biotechnologist Petraelis of King’s College London under the supervision of other experts. They say that this flour contains an extraordinary amount of fiber, which is beneficial for health in all aspects.
The experts mixed 0%, 30% and 60% amounts of this new flour with conventional wheat flour and fed it to a number of volunteers. All of the participants who ate said they felt fuller with less food and had lower blood glucose levels.
Experts believe that mixing this vegetable flour with regular flour can have many medical and nutritional benefits.
