Head Constable Waheed son of Tariq Parvez was shot on the head which proved to be fatal

Staff Reporter: The police constable posted with the judge was ambushed and killed by unknown armed men and escaped.

According to the police, unknown armed suspects ambushed and killed the head constable in New Karachi. Shaheed Ahlkar was posted in Security One and was performing his duties as a gunman along with a judge. SSP Central has declared the incident as a target killing.

According to SSP Central, the martyred head constable was ambushed by unknown armed suspects as he was leaving home for duty on Tuesday morning. The police have found 2 shells of 9 mm pistol from the spot, which the police have taken into possession and started investigation on various aspects of the incident.

48-year-old police constable Waheed son of Tariq Parvez was shot on the head in a target killing near Bilal Colony police station, Sector 5M Nazia Square, New Karachi. He was seriously injured and shifted to a private hospital on Stadium Road. They died while bringing.

On the information of the shooting incident, SSP Central Zeeshan Siddiqui, SP New Karachi Faisal Noor and other police officers reached the spot and the Crime Scene Unit was immediately called. The crime scene has been sealed and evidence has been collected.

Police officials say that the martyred head constable was in plain clothes at the time of firing. Shaheed Head Constable was earlier posted in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri and Bilal Colony Police Station while he was also a part of Special Party in Bilal Colony Police Station.

Police are trying to get footage from CCTV cameras around the spot, besides geo-fencing the spot. Police officials say efforts are on to find out. Why was the head constable targeted?

Wajid, the younger brother of the martyred head constable, said that his brother was performing duty with the judge for the last 3 years. Before that, he had done duty in different police stations. There was no threat to the brother. His brother left home at 7:25 to go to duty, his lunch box was placed on the bike. As soon as they left the house, the armed accused opened fire on them. They demanded that the accused involved in the murder of the brother should be traced as soon as possible and brought to justice.
